Head Veterinary Nurse

Kelly is our Head Nurse, she has been at Penrose Veterinary Group since 1996. She is responsible for the smooth running of the nursing team, and she manages the nursing rotas, and is responsible for the surgical areas, our in-patients and our kennels.

She has 2 cats called Marnie and May Monday, who the nurses hand reared from a day old kitten! Kelly has a young family and enjoys socialising whenever possible.


Registered Veterinary Nurse

Carol joined Penrose Veterinary Group as a Veterinary Nurse in 2000. She likes all aspects of veterinary nursing and enjoys radiography. At home she has two cats, Blade and Samson. She hand raised Blade and Samson from a 2 day old kittens.

Carol has a new addition to her family, Sammy, a Giant African Land Snail who is growing by the day! Outside work Carol enjoys days out with her family and friends.

Claire RVN C-SCP

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Claire has been at Penrose Veterinary Group since 2002. She enjoys inpatient care, surgical nursing and laboratory work. Claire has two cats Alfie and Mitzi and a dog called Ben who she took on as a stray when he was brought into the practice, and Stan the Dachshund.

Outside of work Claire enjoys spending time with her family, dancing, reading, going to the gym, and walking her dogs.

Alex RVN C-SQP Clinical Coach

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Alex started working at Penrose Veterinary Group in 2003, where she trained as a Veterinary Nurse and qualified in 2007. Alex is our Front of House or Clinic nurse.Her other interests within the practice include laboratory work and wound management.

Outside of work Alex enjoys netball and is a coach for a local team, she also is a very devoted England rugby fan and often attends games if she can get a ticket. At home Alex has 4 cats Dylan, Rodney, Leo, and April, and a tortoise called Sammy.

Elona RVN C-SQP DipCABT(QCF-Level 5)

Registered Veterinary Nurse/Receptionist

Elona is responsible for managing the pharmacy and stock control within the Practice. She also runs our diabetic and behaviour clinics. Elona is a qualified animal behaviourist and is able to assist owners with their pets behavioural problems.

She has a complete zoo of animals at home! A dog called Shugs, 10 cats, 2 parrots, 2 degus, 4 chickens and 2 koi.

Janet RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Janet is a qualified Veterinary Nurse and she also manages our reception team and client care. She enjoys having the opportunity to help both the reception and nursing teams when needed, as well as working in the office where she is responsible for our media and marketing and finance. Office life has driven her passion for high quality stationery and pens!

Janet has two cats Mrs Miggins and Lord Percy, both strays from the practice who came home for the weekend and ended up staying, and a tortoise called Sheldon.


Auxilliary Nurse

Emma has been part of the team for over a year now as an axillary nurse. She assists the nurses and also makes sure that in-patients are well cared for.

Emma has plenty of pets to care for at home too, and at weekends she takes part in equine eventing on her own horses.

Fiona RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Fiona is a Qualified Veterinary Nurse who joined the Penrose Veterinary Group in December 2016. At home she has a Jack Russell called Lily and a British Shorthair cat called Madness and a Tonkinese cat called Monkey.

Last but not least, a 50+ year tortoise called Speedy makes her pet family complete. Fiona enjoys walking Lily, gardening, horse riding and reading.

Emily RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Emily has been working at the practice since 2013 after joining us a a student Veterinary Nurse and studying hard for her veterinary nursing qualification.

She loves socialising, shopping and walking her dogs Bella, a Golden Retriever and Murphy who is a Border Terrier. Emily is currently on maternity leave.

Charlotte RVN

BSc (Hons), RVN, Clinical Coach

Charlotte joined Penrose Veterinary Group in 2015 as a student nurse whilst studying at the Royal Veterinary College for a degree in veterinary nursing. After graduating in 2018. she stayed on the team as a qualified RVN. Charlotte’s interests include running nurse clinics, anaesthesia and training our nursing students. Outside of work, Charlotte enjoys spending time outdoors and is attempting yoga classes.

Becky RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Becky joined Penrose Veterinary Group in 2018 after qualifying as an RVN, working in London. Becky’s main interests are looking after our hospitalised patients and anaesthesia.
Outside of work she spends the weekends travelling to see friends and family and trying to plan her wedding!

Claire RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Claire qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2016, originally training in equine nursing she has then transferred her skills into small animals and joined our team at Penrose Veterinary Group in February 2018. Claire enjoys all aspects of nursing.

When she is not at work she is often out competing with her horse Connie, curled up on the sofa with her cat Mushu or socialising with her friends and family.


Veterinary Nurse Auxillary

Max joined Penrose Veterinary Group in 2011 as our veterinary nurse auxillary. She particularly enjoys spending time with our inpatients and assisting our veterinary nurses with operations.

In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family and friends. At home she has 5 dogs which keep her very busy.


Monday - Friday: 8.30am - 6.30pm
Saturday: 8.30am - 12 midday
Sunday: 9.00am - 10.00am
