This summer, due to Brexit, there has been a lot of uncertainty regarding pet travel within the EU. Last week we found out that the possibility of a no deal Brexit had been pushed back until 31st October 2019.

This means that until this date dogs, cats and ferrets may travel as normal within the EU using their PETS passport.

Additionally, the government veterinary department has suggested that if a deal is reached that the likely outcome (at least initially) will be that pet passports will be valid. Whilst we cannot guarantee this will not change, we will continue to issue passports until otherwise instructed.

If you have plans to travel in the EU after the 31st October 2019 and wish to be fully prepared it is worth calling the practice to chat to one of our vets as it may still be advisable to consider further vaccinations and blood tests.

We would also advise keeping an eye on the government website in case of any change via the link below. Please contact us on 01206 842608 if you have any queries.
