Dr Nick Greenwood B.Vet.Med MRCVS
Director and Veterinary Surgeon
Nick is originally form Warwick and graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1990. Since becoming a partner in 2003 Nick has been responsible, along with Stephen Penrose and latterly Alison Swinney, for driving the development of the practice, ensuring that staff, equipment and premises are up to date with the latest developments in veterinary medicine at that we maintain our reputation as a caring and forward thinking practice.
Nick is married to Carol, has two grown up sons and lives in Wix.
Over the years Nick has taken on a variety of stray cats through the practice, the latest being ‘Stitch’, he also has two Whippets, Lily and Isla who are careful to treat Stitch with the respect he deserves.
Dr Alison Swinney MRCVS
Director and Veterinary Surgeon
Alison qualified in 2009 at Liverpool Veterinary School, she joined Penrose Veterinary Group in December 2010 after spending the previous year and a half at a small animal practice in Staffordshire. Alison became a Director in 2015.
Alison’s main interests are medicine and surgery, and she is also a member of the Veterinary Acupuncture Association, running regular clinics at our Brinkley Lane and Stratford St Mary Surgeries. When Alison does get time away from the practice she enjoys walks with her Cocker Spaniel Cassie, and indoor and outdoor rock climbing.
Greg joined Penrose in November 2020 following a long career as a senior executive with BP. His ambition is to continuously improve the Penrose Veterinary Group
practice experience for clients and their pets, while enhancing the working environment for our staff. If you see him about, please do say hello, he really enjoys chatting with our clients (and very often playing with their pets!)
Greg shares his home with his wife and two teenage sons, as well as his Hungarian Vizsla, Bella, Jack Russell terrier, Betsy, and Hugo, the family’s first ever cat.
Claire RVN C-SCP
Registered Veterinary Nurse/Office Manager
Claire is our office manager, she is responsible to the smooth running of our offices including the administration of our popular Pet Health Plan, answering client emails and generally keeping everyone in order!
Claire enjoys nursing once a week at our Stratford St Mary Surgery, where she assists with the surgery and runs the nurse clinic.
Outside of work Claire enjoys spending time with her family, dancing, reading, going to the gym, and exploring with her dogs Stan and Fliss.
MEET OUR VETS
Dr Joanna Rodak MRCVS
Joanna joined Penrose Veterinary Group in 2012. Joanna has a special interest in Internal Medicine, ultrasonography and along with Alison, runs our acupuncture Clinics.
Joanna’s Cocker Spaniel Nellie enjoys coming into the practice with her, and spends her day relaxing on the sofas upstairs! Joanna enjoys spending time with her young family, and is an accomplished salsa dancer.
Dr Chris Goetschel B.Vet.Med MRCVS
Chris graduated with honours from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2014. He spent 18 months in a small animal practice in Birmingham before joining Penrose in 2016.
He has become a real cat lover and has two of his own- Dimitri and Tilly, but would one day love to have a German Shepherd.
He is working towards the RCVS certificate in Veterinary Cardiology.
Outside of work he enjoys starting various art and woodwork projects, occasionally finishing them.
Dr Christopher Mortemore B.Vetmed. MRCVS
Originally from North West London, Chris graduated from the Royal Veterinary College and spent four and a half years working in a small animal practice in Basildon, prior to joining Penrose Veterinary Group in Summer 2017. He has a particular interest in internal medicine and ultrasonography.
In his spare time Chris enjoys listening and playing music, going for walks in the countryside and playing football. Chris shares his home with Callie, a rescue cat.
Dr Katie South B.Vetmed. MRCVS
Katie qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 1995. She worked in mixed practice and then joined Penrose Veterinary Group in 1997. Katie currently works at the practice on Mondays and Thursdays.
She lives in Suffolk with her husband who is also a vet, and they have 2 children as well as a Patterdale Terrier called George and Buddy the Springer Spaniel.
Dr Jackie Pearson BVSc MRCVS
Jackie works at Penrose Veterinary Group on Mondays and Fridays. Jackie’s special interests are operating, especially orthopaedic surgery and she enjoys rabbit medicine too.
She lives locally with her family and a Westie called Lilly, and a Border Terrier called Harvey, both who are very successful in local dog obedience competitions.
Dr Eric Mignon MRCVS
Eric qualified from the university of Liège in Belgium in 2005. He started working in England in 2007 and has worked in different places in East Anglia since then, including a Christchurch vets, Vets Now and also working for Penrose Veterinary Group from 2009 to end of 2010. Eric enjoyed his time with us so much he came back!
Eric has a real passion for cats and their nature and loves working with them. In 2018 Eric obtained my GPcert in feline medicine and surgery and is now working towards an RCVS recognised advanced practitioner status in Feline medicine. Outside work Eric’s main hobbies are cycling, skiing and karting. He shares his home with 2 cats Leo and April.
Dr Clare Prideaux MRCVS
Clare qualified as a vet in 1996. She has worked in several small animal practices in Essex, joining Penrose Veterinary Group in 2019. Clare works at the practice on Tuesday and Fridays, and strives for clinical and professional excellence in all aspects of her work. She is regularly invited to do talks at local primary and secondary schools and she enjoys sharing her experiences with the children.
In her spare time Clare enjoys riding and walking her two dogs Teasel and Fern.
Dr Tim Harper MRCVS
Tim graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2019 and started work in small animal practice in Manchester. In 2021 Tim relocated back to his native Essex and joined our practice.
Tim really enjoys treating our more exotic patients and surgical cases. Outside of work, he is kept very busy with he huge menagerie of animals that includes his five dogs and seven cats, most of which are strays that followed Tim home from work.
