UPDATED GUIDANCE ON SERVICES DURING THE PANDEMIC 5th June
As the pandemic has progressed the range of services that we have been able to offer has gradually changed according to the guidelines issued to us by The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and the British Veterinary Association, and our ability to provide this service safely.
During March and for the first part of the lockdown we ran with a greatly reduced staff and were allowed to see only emergency cases.
Since April/May the guidance has been that we were also allowed to give certain urgent vaccinations, and see cases that would suffer if not treated promptly.
All through this we have had to maintain strict social distancing measures to keep clients and staff safe.
I would like to thank our lovely clients for their patience, and our staff for pulling together with outstanding teamwork – often working under very difficult and pressurised circumstances to provide this service.
These social distancing measures will remain in place for the foreseeable future but new RCVS/BVA guidance issued to us on the 28th May now allows us to gradually transition to offering a more normal range of Veterinary services for you and your pet.
HOWEVER, while we are working to return to a more normal level of staffing, because of the greatly increased time per patient that strict social distancing measures take, our daily capacity to treat your pets will still be significantly reduced -also it is certain that there will be a backlog of cases to catch up with .
We aim to re-open our Stratford St Mary surgery in July which has been closed during most of the emergency so far.
Please be patient -as ever you will always be seen promptly for emergency or urgent cases but for those less urgent cases there may be some delay as cases are prioritised.
We will continue to offer phone consultations and video consultations for suitable cases.
You can contact us by phone on 842608 for our main branch at Brinkley Lane please bear in mind that our busy periods are 9:00 to 11:00 am and 4:30 to 6:30 pm,
You can also email us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
As social distancing continues, we ask you to remain in the car park when you arrive at the surgery. Please call us from your mobile phone to let us know you have arrived, the vet will then return your call and carry out your pet’s consultation over the phone, then we will arrange for your pet to be collected from your car and be taken into the practice.
Until June 15th no clients will be allowed on the premises, after this date in exceptional circumstances this may be possible, but is subject to our clinical and professional judgement and strict precautions.
Unfortunately, we remain unable to offer home visits for the time being.
We will work with you to provide the best possible service for you and your pets during this challenging time and we ask for your patience and understanding as it may be some time yet before our service can return to normal.
