UPDATED ON SERVICES DURING THE PANDEMIC 17th August
Welcoming our clients back into our Brinkley Lane practice
We want to thank you all for your patience – you have been amazing; we have missed you and we are so looking forward to catching up with you all.
We now feel the time is right to allow pre-booked consultations to be conducted with the practice building. Things will look a little different and there are extra precautions that we need to take.
There may be some teething issues as we all adapt to the ‘new normal’.
These measures are in place to keep everyone safe and prevent anyone being a contact in the Test and Trace Scheme. We want to be able to remain open for our clients and we appreciate your continued understanding.
From Tuesday 18th August*, if you have an appointment booked at our Brinkley lane surgery, the following measures will be in place:
We will be allowing ONE client per pet into the building for appointments (exceptions will
apply for those that require a carer etc).
When arriving at the practice for a pre-booked appointment our clients will be met by a member
of our staff, and before entering the building clients will be asked,
• Are you well?
• Do you have a new, continuous cough?
• Have you have had any loss or change to your sense of smell or taste?
Your temperature will be taken with a forehead temperature scanner.
All clients are required to wear a face mask or covering that adequately covers both the
nose and mouth at all times when inside the building. If you would rather not wear a mask then
we politely ask you to wait outside and the vet will come into the car park to see your pet.
Penrose Veterinary Group staff will wear full PPE when examining your pet.
Hand sanitiser will be provided and must be used upon entering and exiting the building.
Strict social distancing must be in place whilst in the practice building and our car park.
Appointments must be kept to no more than 10 minutes to avoid becoming a ‘contact’ in the Test
and Trace Scheme.
We are only accepting card or contactless payments and there is a screen fitted around
our reception area.
Unfortunately, our toilet facilities will be unavailable at this time.
Clients who have returned in the last 14 days from a country that still requires a 2 week
quarantine upon return also must not attend the practice, and instead make suitable
We do appreciate that coming into the building might not suit everyone, instead please contact us
and explain your situation. We’ll arrange a suitable way of conducting an appointment that is in
everyone’s best interests. There is a variety of options available – the important thing is to let us
know and we’ll work together.

Procedures for collection of prescriptions and food
• Please always call ahead to order any prescriptions, flea/tick/worming products or food. Ideally, we need 72 hours’ notice for prescription medication.
• Payment can be taken over the phone before collecting or by Contactless Card in person at time of collection.
• Come to the FRONT door to collect, the door will be locked but please knock and we will hand out your products to you.
And finally, to our incredibly understanding Stratford St Mary Clients, we are working to put these same measures in place and open the door to the Stratford surgery in September.
